Next Event:

After the successful Ragusa and Marzamemi short breaks in June, The Malta Cruising Club is also organising a summer cruise which will take participants to the neighbouring Islands of Lampedusa and Linosa. The Malta Cruising Club flotilla will meet up at Dwejra (behind Fungus Rock) on the 4th August 2010 and depart towards Linosa (approx 65NM) early on the 5th August. The plan is to depart as early as 5:30am to make landfall before sunset.

The next day (6th August) we shall cruise in the late morning towards Lampedusa and berth in Lampedusa Harbour. We are planning to spend a total of 4 days in Lampedusa till the 10th August, departing to Linosa on the 11th August. We also plan to spend another day in Linosa (12th August 2010) Departing back to Dwejra on the 13th August very early to make landfall before Sunset.

We also plan to spend Santa Maria weekend cruising around Gozo and if sufficient numbers join up hold a beach Barbeque together on the 14th August.

Wednesday Evening Fortnightly Cruise –


The locations for the Wednesday Fortnight Cruise are all within an hour’s sail from the marinas and include, St. Georges Bay, Balluta Bay, Kalkara and Excelsior. The destination will be decided closer to the date depending on weather and number of boats.

Monthly Friday Cruise


Once every month the club will hold a Friday evening sail that will also include a dinner on Saturday evening. Members can either complete the weekend in the company of other members or split up.  Our inaugural cruise will be on the weekend of the Mnarja Public holiday and will take our members to our neighbouring Island Sicily, more precisely to Marzamemi.

  • 25th June 2010 – Marzamemi Mnarja Weekend
  • 23rd July 2010 – Comino/Dwejra
  • 20th August 2010 - Paradise Bay

 
Annual Malta Cruising Club Cruise

  • On the 1st fortnight in August the club will hold its Annual Cruise to Sicily.
  • Unlike other events this cruise attracts a nice number of participants that venture offshore for the first time.

 
Kindly note that dates of events are ALWAYS weather permitting and also, due to wind conditions, destinations might differ.
